Sunday Best: White Hot Summer

With the intense heat we’re experiencing here in the valley, it’s difficult to find motivation to want to get dressed up in anything besides a swimsuit. Since I want to preserve the eye sight of my fellow Bay Area residents, I’ve found a few alternatives to all day swimwear.
The summer season calls for ready-to-wear pieces in soft, light-weight fabrics. This carefree look reigned supreme in last week’s Resort 2014 shows as many of the collections, like BCBG Max Azria, incorporated silk jumpsuits and maxi dresses. Here are some of my hottest picks to beat the heat this summer in style.

1. BCBG Max Azria Resort 2014 Jumpsuit – While this collection has yet to be released, you can get a similar look from the line with this Helena Sleveless Jumpsuit

2. These Mia Limited Edition Rocco Sandals are probably my all-time favorite heel of the summer. With a little bit of a sporty edge, they can be paired with anything from a sundress to skinny jeans or denim shorts.

3. Alice + Oliva’s Cady Cuff Metallic shorts have been a staple in their summer line for the past few seasons. If you’re looking for fun shorts for summer BBQs, pool parties, or outdoor festivals, these are the perfect match.

4. Nude and white nail polish has taken over these past few months. Personally, I always wear a white or pale pink polish so that my nails are work appropriate and pair well with any outfit. Butter London is my favorite nail polish line and I’m loving this pastel white color.

5. What more is there to say about Maxi Dresses? They are the answer to all women’s prayers. This Crop Maxi Dress by Love has an ultra-feminine fit perfect for any occasion. The cut outs and slit differentiate this from your every day maxi dress to make it a little bit sexier. With this price, I will gladly take one in every color.
