As we embark upon the season of reflection, gratitude, and of course…shopping, I realize that my own personal sense of style has undergone a transformation. The further I delve into fashion and push its chimerical creative boundaries, I find myself searching for quality pieces that tell a story like the ones featured here. I voraciously sift through and tag the pages of Vogue, study the work of my favorite street style photographers, and analyze the fascinating inspiration behind iconic designers. In the past, my mind would have been ticking away with ideas for the clothes I wanted and not knowing the first place to find them. However, ShopStyle has made it easy to find exactly what it is you’re looking for no matter where you are. The website is a catalog of nearly every store you could imagine, all in one place. You simply type in whatever it is that you’re searching for and it scours your favorite stores and brands to find what you need and provide what everyone wants…options! By removing the barriers to accessing the items you want and love, you discover endless inspiration and gain selectivity to define your own personal style. It goes without saying that ShopStyle also removes the barriers, headaches, and looonngg lines when it comes to Holiday shopping too!

When getting dressed each morning, I always try to choose an outfit that will be appropriate for the corporate setting, can brave the various microclimates I’ll experience while traveling to meetings across The Bay, and can be dressed up for an after-work event or happy hour with the girls. You can never go wrong with a classic black midi (and yes shorter girls can pull these off!) and a lightweight, layer-friendly silk blouse. For the office, I’ll tone the look down by tucking in the blouse, keeping statement jewelry to a minimum, and wearing a low nude heel. To transition to an evening look, untuck the blouse a bit, throw on a leopard belt and heels, and have some fun with bold jewelry. Orange invites you to get more creative with your outfit and by throwing in the leopard, you’ll feel like you took a mental mini-vacay to Miami despite the bristly temps around you. Plus, one of the things I love about this skirt is that its longer and double-layered making it suitable for the Fall and Winter!

At the risk of becoming the real life embodiment of Breaking Bad’s Marie Schrader (purple, anyone?), I’m developing a bit of a fascination with bold-colored tights. While it sounds weird, I’m not a pants person. They’re constricting, they have their own agenda, and more often than not, they’re entirely too long for me. On the other hand (or leg in this case?), I live in leggings, skirts, and dresses. In the Fall, keeping something on your legs is a must, so why not break up the monotony of the same black leggings with a few fun colors. To avoid looking like the crayon of your spirit color, it’s best to counterpoise the look with shoes and accessories that pick up on the subtle accents hues of the outfit.
