While it doesn’t quite feel like a true October yet here (hello 7 straight 90 degree days), my brain has already made the mental shift towards Fall. Call me basic, but I truly believe October is one of the most cherished months of the year. We trade in our swim suits, and subsequent Summer diets, for cozy, enveloping layers, flopping fedoras, and tall boots meant for traipsing through pumpkin patches with pumpkin spiced lattes firmly fixated to hands. It’s a time for wrapping up in one of Fall’s chicly fringed coats to tailgate and cheer on your favorite football team to victory. And for those with an aversion to color, it’s one of the only times of the year you can get away with wearing head-to-toe black in favor of the Halloween month, or just to match a Monday mood.

So in honor of this serendipitous month, here are my top picks for an expertly-styled October. Please enjoy the crisp Fall air and cozying up in these beautiful pieces. Here in California, we will be shielding ourselves from the heat wave indoors with apple pie-scented candles, air conditioner blasting, and that DirecTV fake fireplace scene “crackling” in the background.
