Hello, hello! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared an update. As always, there’s been lots going on. Perhaps the most exciting/interesting news is that I’ve finally invested in a new camera! This is a long time coming as I’ve been shooting with a Nikon Coolpix L820 since almost the beginning of this blog. If you’re just looking to get your feet wet into photography, this is a fantastic camera for that at a great price. I’m a big believer in spending a little less until you’re confident you want to develop a skill in that area (side note: this is why I’ve spent next to nothing on kitchenware and cleaning tools!)

Over the past few years of working on the blog, I’ve started to really enjoy the photography aspect. It’s fascinating to me that one creative outlet can inspire another. This is why I always say to just get started on a project and the details will reveal themselves as you move through it. While both my blogging and photography skills are still at early stages, it has been so fun to learn more about both fields and try new things.

After lots of research, I finally landed on the Sony Alpha a6000  camera. It is still on the beginner end of the DSLR cameras, but it’s definitely an upgrade for me! It takes lightning fast, incredibly clear photos and automatically adjusts to capture the most important details. We played around with it this week taking a few photos in the always idyllic Maiden Lane, as well as making our way to a rooftop Blue Angels watch party. I’m excited to share a few of the photos here today with many more on the way.

Until next time! And, I promise I’ll be back much sooner 🙂
