A very happy Friday because today’s MY BIRTHDAY! Growing up, my mom always made my whole birthday week (month even) feel like such a celebration. Being that it’s around Valentine’s Day, there were always heart-shaped candles, heart-shaped red velvet cake, little gift baskets, pink and red balloons, confetti…everywhere. No matter what my Valentine status was, it was always a celebration!
This weekend, I’m taking off on a quick getaway to Los Angeles to do just that. It was a toss up between braving the icy roads to Tahoe or enjoying the warm weather in LA – LA for the win!
Wishing you all a fun Valentine’s, or Galentine’s, weekend!
Merry Christmas Eve! Wishing each of you a peaceful and joyful Christmas filled with lots of love.
If you haven’t had a chance to get cracking at your Christmas shopping, there’s still ample time! Many retailers, like Nordstrom, are still offering Free Rush Delivery by Christmas Eve (you have to order by Dec. 23rd at noon EST). Then, there’s always Amazon, your best friend that makes it happen in the clutch.
The other part of this whole last minute Christmas gift shopping is deciding what to get everyone on your list, without asking them (hence revealing you waited ’til the last minute)! Might I suggest a few gift ideas to ease the burden and get you on your merry way?

Happy Monday, everyone! Cheers to a short week and Thanksgiving in just 3 more days. As mentioned here, Thanksgiving has always been a favorite of mine, both for what it represents and for the opportunity to take a break and spend quality time with family.
I’ve been saving this top for Thanksgiving because of how cozy it is and how it hides all signs of the extra helping of stuffing I’ll likely consume. Layer it with your favorite pair of leggings for extra comfort. I especially love these. With shawl-like tops, I always opt for a heel to offset the larger top and create a nice silhouette.

Along with the Holiday season comes the ultimate party circuit. Whether you’re playing hostess to family and friends, braving through the office Holiday party, or toasting to the New Year, you need the perfect go-to party look. This season I’m loving a long-sleeve (always long sleeve) shift dress, topped off with the ever classic, Kate Middleton-style Alexander McQueen coat, and booties with a surprise kick.
